The Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa is Ethiopia’s largest state and university hospital. It was built in the 1960s and a general overhaul had become urgently necessary. Especially the paediatric cancer ward was in a state that posed health risks due to exposed power lines, dilapidated ceiling elements, damaged sanitary facilities and defective lights.
The Zumtobel Group supported the renovation of the paediatric oncology ward with a new lighting and colour concept. The corridor, the medical rooms and the patient rooms were fitted with new lighting by Zumtobel and now shine in bright and friendly tones of light and colour. The Zumtobel Group thus contributes to improving the local healthcare infrastructure for the young patients.
